The war room fell hard for Andrew Raym, and it showed at No. 216: 23 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Braden Fiske at Round 2, Pick 24 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They liked MarShawn Lloyd enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 87. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Ty'Ron Hopper in pick No. 174 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Andrew Raym, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid up for Kalen DeLoach at the 233rd pick when waiting would have done the job. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Tarheeb Still at the Round 7 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
