After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The King pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
