The Patriots did not so much draft Kaytron Allen as overpay for him, 86 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. On value alone, Carter makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
