The Commanders went off the board in a big way for Jawhar Jordan, 77 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The Mims pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Marvin Harrison Jr. at slot 2, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had Graham Barton higher than pick 34, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Amarius Mims all the way to the Round 2 slot, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Cooper DeJean went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Michael Pratt at the 100th pick is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Tommy Eichenberg in No. 102; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They went early on Cole Bishop in the 139th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A minor itch, scratched.
Moose Muhammad III in Round 6, Pick 5 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jawhar Jordan. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
