Call it larceny. De'Corian Clark sat on the board until the 243rd overall pick, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Knox lower, and that gap is the story.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th pick they get a press-man option on the boundary, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy bit of business in slot 50, where Bralen Trice graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Tyler Guyton in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Junior Colson at No. 89 is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
They read the board right and Christian Mahogany was the payoff at the 97th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Michael Hall Jr. at pick No. 99. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had Beau Brade higher than Round 4, Pick 26, and the safety fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Max Melton slid further than he should have, and pick 128 is lovely value for the cornerback. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Will Shipley in the 137th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Malik Mustapha was still sitting there in slot 162, and they pounced on premier safety value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in No. 163. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach for Trey Knox in the 172nd overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 243 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
