Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Deontae Lawson, the No. 81 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 5, Pick 23.

The Riley pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
