The rest of the league will want that one back. TreVeyon Henderson tumbling to the Texans in pick No. 165 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 27 they get a double-digit-sack hope. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board fumbled Tate Ratledge all the way to slot 49, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Steal is underselling it; Dylan Fairchild at No. 89 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay Deone Walker at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Barrett Carter in pick No. 126 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach the 165th pick and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Howard Cross III at the 190th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Seth McLaughlin in Round 7, Pick 25, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
