The rest of the league will want that one back. Ollie Gordon II tumbling to the Texans in No. 243 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a cornerstone up front at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Alfred Collins at the 58th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jack Bech at the 89th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Cam Skattebo in No. 127 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Terrance Ferguson in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Ollie Gordon II at Round 7, Pick 25 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
