Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Dolphins, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Devonshire falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 3 they get a passer to set the clock by. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 4th pick they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nice patience on Joe Alt, who had no business lasting to pick 21. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Beau Brade at slot 158 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Steal is underselling it; Trevor Keegan at pick No. 184 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board fumbled Xavier Thomas all the way to the 198th overall pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Somehow M.J. Devonshire was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
