The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named edge rusher, a need the Eagles walked right past. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The Davis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 3 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The back end got a real overhaul.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a lockdown presence outside, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good price on Calen Bullock in the 50th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A straight-up fair deal on Edgerrin Cooper at Round 2, Pick 21, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reach on Ray Davis in No. 97; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
