Some picks age like wine; Barryn Sorrell at pick 172 will need to, sitting 124 spots clear of his grade. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bowman Jr.. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 12 they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Emeka Egbuka in the 44th overall pick, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
By-the-book stuff, Omarr Norman-Lott at pick No. 76 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Taking Dylan Fairchild in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They robbed the room for Danny Stutsman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A real head-scratcher, Barryn Sorrell in slot 172 is miles ahead of his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Mitchell Evans at slot 174 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value said wait; Quinn Carroll in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Billy Bowman Jr. at pick No. 211 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Justin Walley. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
