They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Barryn Sorrell, 123 picks early at Round 5, Pick 31.
The Majors value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th pick they get a workhorse for the backfield, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Walter Nolen in No. 44 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jihaad Campbell in Round 3, Pick 12, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Jake Majors still on the board at pick 148. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A wild overpay on Barryn Sorrell in pick No. 168, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No drama and no debate, Dont'e Thornton Jr. went about where he belonged in slot 170. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cobee Bryant. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They will replay Rod Moore at pick 186 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They left a pile of value on the table to take KJ Jefferson this early at the 209th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Ben Yurosek at No. 248 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
