Thirty-one other rooms let Danny Stutsman slide, and the Cowboys were the ones holding the card at slot 150. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

If Bailey pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.14 · Pick 14 · Ashton Jeanty · RB · rank 2
In the 14th overall pick they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Matthew Golden · WR · rank 44
Matthew Golden in pick No. 44 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Omarr Norman-Lott · DT · rank 76
A straight-up fair deal on Omarr Norman-Lott at slot 76, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.16 · Pick 80 · David Bailey · LB-EDGE · rank 132
A big swing on David Bailey at the Round 3 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.11 · Pick 148 · Jake Majors · C · rank 92
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Majors in No. 148, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.13 · Pick 150 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 85
Danny Stutsman at the 150th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.31 · Pick 168 · Shemar Turner · DL · rank 163
They did well to land Shemar Turner in pick 168, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
R5.33 · Pick 170 · Joshua Gray · OG · rank 166
Joshua Gray at Round 5, Pick 33 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.36 · Pick 173 · Miles Frazier · OG · rank 203
Miles Frazier at the 173rd overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Sonny Styles · S · rank 122
A safety of that caliber at pick 186 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Nohl Williams · CB · rank 244
Nohl Williams at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.32 · Pick 248 · KJ Jefferson · QB · rank 289
KJ Jefferson in the 248th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
