The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Charles Grant, the No. 99 name on the board, in the 150th overall pick. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They are betting Dumas-Johnson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, outstanding value to boot.
Omarion Hampton at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Circle this one: Tre Harris at pick 76 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Charles Grant here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Jamon Dumas-Johnson at pick No. 190 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
You do not let a cornerback like Cobee Bryant reach pick 211 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board fumbled CJ West all the way to Round 7, Pick 31, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
