The Cowboys put a flag in the ground for Barryn Sorrell, 76 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Shough at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 12 they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
No drama and no debate, Tre Harris went about where he belonged in slot 44. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Carson Schwesinger at the 76th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Tommi Hill in Round 5, Pick 11 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tyler Shough at the 171st pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ajani Cornelius in the Round 5 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They will replay Cobee Bryant at the 204th pick for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaylen Reed in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Barryn Sorrell. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Tonka Hemingway at slot 247 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
