Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Barryn Sorrell. He came off 68 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
However the rest shakes out, Mukuba at that price is a win they earned. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an island corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Omarion Hampton slipping to pick 44 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had Jayden Higgins higher than pick No. 76, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Andrew Mukuba in the 149th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Tyler Shough in Round 5, Pick 33 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jack Kiser in the 174th overall pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 204 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Addison West is a better player than Round 6, Pick 35 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Eric Gregory at No. 239 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Barryn Sorrell in the 247th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
