Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Diggs has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
The Jonathan Taylor pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Ashton Jeanty and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 14 they get a bell-cow for the offense, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Tyler Warren at Round 2, Pick 12 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Carson Schwesinger at the 76th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zy Alexander at slot 117 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Taking Denzel Burke in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; Kyle McCord at the 171st pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Logan Brown here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Joshua Gray at No. 189 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Aeneas Peebles at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A big swing on Fadil Diggs at the 211th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Ricky White III in the 239th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Chimere Dike in pick No. 247 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
