You could see the war room lean forward. Danny Stutsman at Round 6, Pick 28 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They are betting Griffith proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
Shavon Revel Jr. at pick 29 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They did well to land Dylan Fairchild in the 61st pick, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ajani Cornelius at No. 79 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They robbed the room for TreVeyon Henderson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Danny Stutsman in Round 6, Pick 28 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Thor Griffith in the 236th overall pick, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
You do not let a safety like Jaylen Reed reach pick No. 247 and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
