You build a draft on nights like this. LaDarius Henderson had no business being available in Round 6, Pick 28, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Robinson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid a round early for Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 41st pick, more than the board wanted. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Troy Franklin at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Payton Wilson in pick No. 88 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Value said wait; Darius Robinson in No. 91 says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Will Shipley a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Malik Mustapha in the 135th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They will replay LaDarius Henderson at slot 203 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Jawhar Jordan in pick No. 217 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Value with a capital V on Omar Speights in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Demani Richardson at the 246th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
