The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Wyatt Milum slide 175 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Hancock pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots still on the board. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Josh Conerly Jr. at the 72nd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Tre Harris at the 85th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Jordan Hancock while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots sat open.
You do not let an edge rusher like Jordan Burch reach Round 5, Pick 6 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They robbed the room for Wyatt Milum here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jason Marshall Jr. in pick No. 218 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
The board fumbled Ashton Gillotte all the way to the 228th overall pick, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
