The Packers spent real capital to be 60 picks early on Charles Turner III, and the board is going to hold them to it.

However the rest shakes out, Oladapo at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

With quarterback, tight end and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.3 · Pick 35 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 34
A straight-up fair deal on Kamren Kinchens at the 35th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Devontez Walker · WR · rank 45
Devontez Walker at the 41st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 57
No drama and no debate, Edgerrin Cooper went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 76
They paid a round early for Christian Haynes in pick 66, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 105
Khyree Jackson at pick No. 88 is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 107
A want over a need in slot 91: Jaden Hicks adds a safety while quarterback, tight end and other spots keeps waiting.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 123
Nothing to complain about; Jarrian Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 158
Value said wait; Jaylen Wright in Round 5, Pick 1 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 184
Isaiah Davis at pick 168 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 166
Steal is underselling it; Kitan Oladapo at slot 203 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Darius Muasau · LB · rank 223
Darius Muasau in No. 216 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Xavier Thomas · DE-EDGE · rank 255
They jumped the gun on Xavier Thomas, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Charles Turner III · C · rank 311
Charles Turner III in the 251st pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
