You build a draft on nights like this. Johnny Dixon had no business being available in the Round 7 slot, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

In pick 24 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board fumbled Tyler Guyton all the way to the Round 2 slot, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Blake Corum at pick No. 87 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Tykee Smith at the 173rd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Joe Milton III slipping to slot 213 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
You do not let a cornerback like Johnny Dixon reach Round 7, Pick 11 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tayvion Robinson at No. 242 is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
