It is the swing that defines the weekend: Tommy Eichenberg in the 73rd overall pick, a good 51 spots before the room expected him. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Packers indulged a want in Brade while a need in quarterback and wide receiver stayed open. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
However the rest shakes out, Orhorhoro at that price is a win they earned.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
R1.14
· Pick 14
· JC Latham
· OT
· rank 15
JC Latham at No. 14 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.9
· Pick 41
· Calen Bullock
· S
· rank 42
Calen Bullock at Round 2, Pick 9 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
R2.14

They talked themselves into Amarius Mims at pick No. 46, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.25
· Pick 57
· Denzel Burke
· CB
· rank 55
By-the-book stuff, Denzel Burke at slot 57 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.9
· Pick 73
· Tommy Eichenberg
· LB
· rank 124
Tommy Eichenberg in the 73rd overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.18
· Pick 82
· Ruke Orhorhoro
· DT
· rank 67
Ruke Orhorhoro in pick 82 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.9
· Pick 109
· Tahj Brooks
· RB
· rank 138
Tahj Brooks in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.14

A want over a need in No. 114: Beau Brade adds a safety while quarterback and wide receiver keeps waiting.

R6.12

R6.42
· Pick 217
· Theo Johnson
· TE
· rank 231
The board had cheaper options than Theo Johnson at Round 6, Pick 42, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
R6.44
· Pick 219
· Fentrell Cypress II
· CB
· rank 246
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Fentrell Cypress II well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.10
· Pick 230
· LaDarius Henderson
· OT
· rank 248
This one needs a full-page explanation: LaDarius Henderson in pick 230, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
