The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Jonah Coleman slide 95 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The cost of the Rogers reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The Matt Goncalves deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

In slot 14 they get a seam-stretching tight end, though the board says they badly overpaid. A clean fit for the roster.
Circle this one: Harold Fannin Jr. at the 41st pick is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
The board fumbled Nick Emmanwori all the way to pick No. 49, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jordan James in No. 72 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
