Somewhere a general manager is explaining how T.J. Sanders got past him. The Dolphins do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 251. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Green has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot.
Wyatt Milum in Round 2, Pick 15 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kenneth Grant at pick No. 98 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tate Ratledge in the 99th pick, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Walter Nolen all the way to No. 114, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Tre Harris at pick 148 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wild overpay on Taylen Green in slot 225, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 231 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: T.J. Sanders still on the board at pick 251. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
