You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Giants did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.
Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
The Bullock value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They will need Legette to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
In No. 29 they get a go-to option on the outside, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Max Melton went about where he belonged in the 70th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Calen Bullock at slot 111 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They let Jamari Thrash come to them and pounced at pick 144. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
