For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Chris Johnson at slot 47 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Jacob Rodriguez at No. 72 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Genesis Smith in pick 113. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Skyler Gill-Howard at the Round 5 slot is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Thaddeus Dixon at par in the 214th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Eli Heidenreich in Round 7, Pick 33, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A tidy little value on Alan Herron in the 254th pick, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
