They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Emery Jones Jr., 89 picks early at pick No. 108. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.
That Henderson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 18th overall pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Smael Mondon Jr. at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Sonny Styles at No. 50 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Warren in Round 3, Pick 8. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Tyler Booker in slot 86 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value said wait; Emery Jones Jr. in pick 108 says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, TreVeyon Henderson in Round 4, Pick 18, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 144 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
