Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars bled value on every deal, hence the C-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Brenen Thompson had no business being available in the 127th overall pick, and the Jaguars did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

Reaching for Green left real value on the table behind him. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Monroe Freeling · OT · rank 26
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Caleb Banks · DL · rank 41
A straight-up fair deal on Caleb Banks at slot 37, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.35 · Pick 99 · Connor Lew · C · rank 82
Value with a capital V on Connor Lew in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Devin Moore · CB · rank 93
Devin Moore in Round 4, Pick 8 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Kaleb Proctor · DL · rank 135
Kaleb Proctor at No. 111 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.15 · Pick 115 · Bryce Lance · WR · rank 90
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Bryce Lance in pick 115, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Brenen Thompson · WR · rank 94
Brenen Thompson at pick No. 127 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.28 · Pick 128 · Keylan Rutledge · OG · rank 114
Keylan Rutledge slipping to the 128th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Zxavian Harris · DT · rank 155
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zxavian Harris. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.13 · Pick 153 · Taylen Green · QB · rank 188
Taylen Green at the 153rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.20 · Pick 160 · Kaytron Allen · RB · rank 147
Nice patience on Kaytron Allen, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 20. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.39 · Pick 179 · Dae'Quan Wright · TE · rank 181
Dae'Quan Wright at pick 179 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.4 · Pick 185 · Jeff Caldwell · WR · rank 189
Jeff Caldwell at the 185th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
