Boards are made to be trusted, and the Patriots shredded theirs for Anthony Belton. He came off 113 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The Frazier steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a load in the middle. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A real head-scratcher, Armand Membou in the 37th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Booker. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A wild overpay on Antwaun Powell-Ryland in No. 69, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Value said wait; Carson Schwesinger in Round 3, Pick 13 says they were not listening. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylin Noel well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Anthony Belton in the 143rd pick, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nohl Williams in pick 217 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Davison Igbinosun in slot 220 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Miles Frazier at No. 222 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They reached into another round for RJ Harvey, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
