Start where it matters. The Patriots took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
On value alone, Wallace makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Holker pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Caleb Williams in the 3rd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kool-Aid McKinstry at Round 2, Pick 2 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Kiran Amegadjie in pick 68 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Brenden Rice at the 103rd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
