The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in Jordan Travis, taking him 67 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
Davis at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The phones were where this weekend was really won.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a press-man option on the boundary. More want than need.
