They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. J.J. McCarthy is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

That Smith-Wade pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The cost of the Boyd reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
