The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Seahawks watched A.J. Haulcy slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
If Durant pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Jadarian Price in the 64th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A.J. Haulcy at Round 3, Pick 18 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They jumped the gun on Emmett Johnson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They went early on Zane Durant in slot 163, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Nothing to complain about; Josh Cameron went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Pat Coogan. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
