The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Beau Brade, pick No. 220, roughly 86 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Marvin Harrison Jr. at the Round 2 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy little value on Kingsley Suamataia in slot 68, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
You do not let an edge rusher like Chris Braswell reach the 103rd pick and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
James Williams in pick 180 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Trente Jones in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Beau Brade in pick No. 220 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Daijun Edwards in No. 231 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
