The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jahdae Barron, the No. 14 name on the board, in the 241st pick.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Travis Hunter at pick 4 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It adds depth where they could use a little.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Wyatt Milum reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Ashton Jeanty all the way to pick No. 68, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Tre Harris was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 19, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Steal is underselling it; Tate Ratledge at slot 105 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nick Emmanwori in No. 142 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They robbed the room for Jermari Harris here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Josaiah Stewart in the 224th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Circle this one: Jahdae Barron at the 241st pick is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
