Thirty-one other rooms let Jermod McCoy slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at the Round 6 slot. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Good price on Caleb Downs in pick No. 7, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Somehow Sonny Styles was still sitting there in No. 71, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Ted Hurst at slot 147 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Circle this one: Jermod McCoy at the 187th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Lee Hunter still on the board at pick 209. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jalon Kilgore at the 223rd pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
