The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Tre Harris slide 205 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Travis Hunter and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 3 they get a sticky cover corner. More want than need.
Ashton Jeanty in slot 70 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Wyatt Milum was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 16, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Tyler Booker at the 106th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
They barely believed it either: Josaiah Stewart still on the board at No. 221. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tre Harris in pick 223, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taking Dylan Fairchild in the Round 7 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
