The board owed the Patriots one, and it paid up: Jordan Morgan, the No. 37 name on the board, sitting there at Round 3, Pick 4 like a gift left on the doorstep.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd overall pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the 34th pick, where Amarius Mims graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jordan Morgan in pick No. 68 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Brandon Dorlus was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
