You could see the war room lean forward. Jaren Kanak at slot 255 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart. The Terell Smith pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They will replay Lee Hunter at Round 3, Pick 5 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Jake Slaughter in the 84th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
You do not let a wide receiver like Bryce Lance reach slot 120 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No drama and no debate, Charles Demmings went about where he belonged in No. 141. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Beau Stephens in pick 160 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Nice patience on Taylen Green, who had no business lasting to pick No. 201. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Jaren Kanak in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
