The tape said wait; the Cardinals did not. Will Howard went at the Round 5 slot, a good 97 picks before the board was ready.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

In pick No. 17 they get a building block for the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A big swing on Jared Ivey at slot 48, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Aeneas Peebles went about where he belonged in pick 81. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A premium they did not need to pay, Domani Jackson a notch or two before his time. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Will Howard. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
