When a board-topper like Josh Cameron slides to the 228th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Jets did not. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

They will need Perkins Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Jets indulged a want in Perkins Jr. while a need in edge rusher and safety stayed open.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
