This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Le'Veon Moss, the No. 144 name on the board, stolen at the Round 7 slot.
Every board in the league had Dellinger lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th pick they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that.
Tate Ratledge in the Round 2 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
A real head-scratcher, Hayden Conner in No. 89 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
TreVeyon Henderson at the 126th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value said wait; CJ West in pick No. 131 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Garrett Dellinger in pick 164, miles early. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Hancock at Round 7, Pick 25 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Somehow Le'Veon Moss was still sitting there in slot 244, and they pounced on premier running back value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
