Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Braelon Allen. He came off 48 spots early, and the room will hear about it. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The McCoy steal is the beam this whole class leans on. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They jumped the gun on Tyler Guyton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
Value said wait; Braelon Allen in pick No. 57 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No drama and no debate, Christian Mahogany went about where he belonged in pick 88. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Roman Wilson in Round 3, Pick 29, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 125th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Shemar Turner at Round 4, Pick 35 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy little value on Joshua Gray in pick 203, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Bru McCoy in slot 217 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Jawhar Jordan slid further than he should have, and the 219th pick is lovely value for the running back. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Demani Richardson in No. 246 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
