Start where it matters. The Giants took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Thomas Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brian Thomas Jr. at slot 39 is the proof. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Byron Murphy II in the 47th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Christian Haynes at pick 70 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tykee Smith is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cam Hart at the 143rd pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Christian Jones at Round 6, Pick 10 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
