The war room fell hard for Xavier Thomas, and it showed at No. 181: 71 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Drake Maye gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. With interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on defensive back is the choice that costs them.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
