The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Bullock at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 2 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Jordan Morgan at the 36th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good price on Ja'Tavion Sanders in slot 40, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They took Kiran Amegadjie at par in pick 67, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Brandon Dorlus at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Nice patience on Calen Bullock, who had no business lasting to Round 3, Pick 37. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
By-the-book stuff, Jaylin Simpson at No. 139 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A conviction pick on Marist Liufau at the 152nd pick that the board grades a round light. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
No edge and no loss on Frank Gore Jr. in pick No. 222; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
