The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. The bottom line is a respectable B.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Odunze.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 8 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
In the 18th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jordan Morgan at Round 2, Pick 2 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kamren Kinchens at the 68th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Zak Zinter in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reach for Jalyx Hunt in pick No. 137; a little patience would have been rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Curtis Jacobs at pick 193 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Nothing to complain about; Johnny Dixon went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Bub Means at the 231st overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
