They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Every board in the league had Suamataia lower, and that gap is the story.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Adonai Mitchell at par in pick No. 34, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 2 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good price on Zak Zinter in slot 109, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
A slide stopped in pick 136, with Johnny Wilson worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A quiet steal in the 179th overall pick: Kamal Hadden for less than the market said. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Ty'Ron Hopper at No. 182 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Dominique Hampton in Round 7, Pick 36; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
