Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Payton Wilson. He came off 56 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
The McMillan value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Quinyon Mitchell at the 40th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Calen Bullock at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
TreVeyon Henderson in No. 83 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Payton Wilson at pick 88 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Gabriel Murphy at pick No. 119 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had Jalen McMillan higher than pick 135, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
